How to develop skills sense of initiative and entrepreneurship?

“Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship” competencies concern a person’s ability to turn his or her ideas into concrete actions. This skill is important not only in everyday life, but also in the working sphere, as it helps people understand the context in which they operate and seize opportunities that arise. In addition, it is the starting point for the specific knowledge needed to start or contribute to a social or business activity. Knowledge needed for this competency includes the ability to identify opportunities available for personal, professional, and business activities, as well as a general knowledge of how the economy works and the challenges employers and organizations face. Skills needed for this competency include proactive project management (planning, organizing, managing, leading, delegating, analyzing, communicating, reporting, evaluating, and recording), the ability to represent and negotiate effectively, and the ability to work both individually and collaboratively within groups. In addition, people should be able to assess their strengths and weaknesses, take risks when necessary, and discern what is important to achieve their goals. The entrepreneurial attitude is characterized by a spirit of initiative, the ability to anticipate events, independence and innovation in private and social life as well as at work. This attitude requires motivation and determination to achieve goals, both personal and shared with others, including at work.

DEAMS offers students the opportunity to develop these skills through various workshops and agreement with specific companies:

  1. Convention with the company VGEN, which aims to connect students with companies through challenges, internships and job offers. For more information: VGen | Connecting Companies with New Generations
  2. Convention with Circl Society: Leadership Development Course for Businesses | Circl.org
